Tattoo artist at Smokin Guns Tattoo
Hello, my name is Shelby. I was born and raised in southern Maine, which is also where I got my apprenticeship in October 2011. I’ve been living and working in NC since late 2013, after moving from Maine to Vermont, and working there for a while. The Army brought us here, this is my husband’s first duty station and I’ve been tattooing part-time since we came here. We’ve had a few other things going on, like becoming parents to an amazing little boy; and Army life in general, that I’ve been putting first, so it feels nice to finally be able to make this a priority. It has been tough finding a shop that I fit into, and I feel lucky to be apart of such an awesome team. I’m inspired by artists like Teresa Sharpe, Kate Selkie, and Shawn Hebrank, as well as many others, and I really enjoy and want to pursue realism, semi realism, portraiture, neo traditional, and illustrative work. I am always learning and I love that about the art field and this industry in particular. I’m no good at writing about myself, so yeah. I just like making art stuff.
